Friends with (erection size) benefits? Erect penis size versus type of partner
[dropcap]Y[/dropcap]ou may have previously read on Statgasm! how much I enjoy the 2014 study led by Debby Hebernick on erect penis dimensions. If you need a reminder, check out my previous post here. I’ve also mentioned more than a few times how the researchers did the world a great service by carving up their robust erect penis data like a thanksgiving turkey. Their thorough data stratification has provided several unique insights into the erect penis. The Hebernick study had 1,661 men self-measure their erect penis length, circumference and record several additional items including how they obtained their erection and if there was someone present, the nature of their relationship. A summary of the data is shown below.
The men that measured their erect penis with a someone other than a sexual partner (e.g. a friend) present reported a mean erect penis length of 16.0 cm (6.3″), which was significantly longer than the men who were alone or with a sexual partner. Circumference was also larger but not enough to be statistically significant.
I don’t really know what to make of these results; the researchers offer no explanation in their paper. It could be a small sample size anomaly, as only 16 out of 1,661 men reported measuring their erection with a non-sexual partner present. Or maybe it’s that guys who are comfortable pulling out their erect Johnsons in front of their friends have large penises. That makes a lot of sense to me.
